How to use
How to grow Coriander Sprouting Seeds
- Prepare: lightly crush the round seeds with a rolling pin to split them in half, then soak for 8–12 hours and drain well.
- Sow in a single, close layer over 2–3cm of moist seed compost in a shallow tray with drainage holes. Use about 20–30g for a standard 25 × 50cm tray, or 4–6g for a 15 × 20cm tray. Cover with a thin layer of compost.
- Cover for 5–7 days to keep them dark and moist while the roots take hold.
- Grow on in bright light, watering from below so the compost stays damp but not soggy.
- Cut just above the compost when the shoots are 5–8cm tall and the leaves have opened, usually after 2–3 weeks.

Can I grow coriander in a sprouting jar?
No. Coriander is slow to germinate and dries out or spoils in a jar. It's grown as microgreens in compost.
Why is coriander so slow?
Each round coriander ‘seed’ is a husk holding two seeds, which slows germination. Splitting them with a rolling pin helps, or choose our split coriander for faster, more even growth.
How long do coriander microgreens take?
About 2–3 weeks. Germination alone can take 7–10 days.
How much seed should I use?
About 20–30g for a standard 25 × 50cm tray, or 4–6g for a 15 × 20cm tray.
Is it suitable for vegans?
Yes.
How should I store the seeds?
Keep them sealed in a cool, dry place away from sunlight, and reseal the pouch after opening.
