Questions about ayurvedic powders
Can't see your question? Get in touch and we'll help.
How do I use Ayurvedic powders?
Most of the edible powders are stirred into warm milk, plant milk, tea, smoothies or porridge. Start with a small amount, such as a quarter to half a teaspoon, and check each product page for suggested amounts.
What does ashwagandha powder taste like?
It is earthy and noticeably bitter. Warm milk with honey, cinnamon or cardamom, or a banana smoothie, masks the taste well, or you can choose our Organic Ashwagandha Capsules instead.
What is Triphala?
Triphala is a traditional Ayurvedic blend of three dried fruits, amla, haritaki and bibhitaki, ground into a tart, astringent powder. It is usually mixed with warm water.
Can I eat henna, indigo, shikakai or brahmi powder?
No. These are cosmetic powders for external use on hair only. Always do a patch test first and keep them out of reach of children.
Can I use these powders if I'm pregnant or taking medication?
Please speak to your doctor or pharmacist before using herbal powders if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or taking any medication.
How should I store Ayurvedic powders?
Keep them sealed in their pouch or an airtight jar in a cool, dry, dark cupboard, and use a dry spoon each time. This keeps them free-flowing and preserves their colour and aroma.
