How to use
How to grow Chickpeas for Sprouting
- Soak about 5 tablespoons (around 80g) of chickpeas per 1-litre jar in plenty of cool water for 8–12 hours.
- Drain well and keep the jar at room temperature, out of direct sun, tilted so excess water runs out.
- Rinse and drain 2–3 times a day. They roughly double in size, so leave plenty of room in the jar. Remove any chickpeas that stay hard.
- Harvest after 2–3 days, when the roots are 0.5–1cm long. Give them a final rinse, drain very well and keep them in the fridge, using within 2–3 days.
Quality & Sourcing: Nature's Root selects high-quality organic seed and packs it carefully to maintain freshness. Batches are checked for quality and handled in line with good manufacturing practices.
Allergens & Storage: Packed in a facility that handles nuts and sesame. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Reseal after opening.
Food safety: The Food Standards Agency advises cooking sprouted seeds until they're steaming hot all the way through before eating, unless they're sold as ready to eat. Home-grown sprouts aren't, so cook them first, and keep them in the fridge once harvested.

How many chickpeas should I use?
About 5 tablespoons (around 80g) for a 1-litre jar, as they double in size.
