Natures Root Organic Ashwagandha Powder

What is Organic Ashwagandha Powder? Ashwagandha is a plant. The root and berry are used to make medicine. It is called the ‘ginseng’ of Ayurvedic medicine and is considered an ‘adaptogen’, a term used to describe herbs that improve physical energy and athletic ability, increase immunity to colds and infections and increase sexual capacity and fertility. Ashwagandha is a herb that comprises flavonoids and is loaded with withanolides which are considered to be the active constituents of the herb. Ashwagandha is rich in iron, which contributes to increased red blood cell count and contains significant amounts of the amino acids arginine and ornithine, which are needed for proper central nervous system function.
Ashwagandha root stimulates the immune system, can reduce inflammation, and may even improve memory. Preliminary studies indicate Ashwagandha may help to reduce the negative effects of stress, slow tumour growth, treat anxiety and insomnia, and reduce cholesterol in addition to increasing sexual performance. Organic Ashwagandha has shown benefits in treating anxiety and depression, stimulation of thyroid function, and improvement in memory and mental function. In the Ayurvedic medical system, Ashwagandha is one of the most highly valuable herbs and is classified as mood stabiliser.

Ashwagandha powder can be used in several ways:

  1. Oral consumption: Mix 1-2 teaspoons of ashwagandha powder in a glass of warm milk or water and drink it twice a day. It can also be added to smoothies or shakes for a delicious and easy way to consume it.

  2. Topical use: Mix ashwagandha powder with coconut oil or any other carrier oil and apply it to the skin for anti-aging benefits, or to relieve pain or inflammation.

  3. Capsules: Ashwagandha powder can also be made into homemade capsules - it's a convenient way to take it, usually the recommended dosage is between 500mg to 1g per day.

It is always recommended to consult with a healthcare practitioner before starting any new supplement regimen, they can help you determine the right dosage for your individual needs and also help you avoid any potential interactions with other medications or supplements you may be taking.
