How to use
How to grow Mustard Sprouting Seeds
- Prepare a shallow tray with a damp hemp or coir mat, a few layers of kitchen paper or 1–2cm of moist seed compost.
- Sow: These seeds form a natural gel when wet, so don't soak them first. Scatter the seed thinly and evenly, using about 20–30g for a standard 25 × 50cm tray or 5–7g for a 15 × 20cm tray.
- Cover for 1–2 days to keep the seeds dark and moist while they germinate. Mist them if the surface starts to dry.
- Grow on in bright light, watering from below so the base stays damp but not soggy.
- Cut just above the base when the shoots are 4–6cm tall with open leaves, usually after 5–8 days.
Quality & Sourcing: Nature's Root selects high-quality organic seed and packs it carefully to maintain freshness. Batches are checked for quality and handled in line with good manufacturing practices.
Allergens & Storage: Packed in a facility that handles nuts and sesame. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Reseal after opening.

You might also like
Can I grow mustard in a sprouting jar?
No. Mustard seeds form a gel when wet, so they clump together and spoil in a jar. Grow them on a damp tray, mat or kitchen paper instead.
How long does mustard take?
About 5–8 days. It's one of the fastest seeds to grow.
How much seed should I use?
About 20–30g for a standard 25 × 50cm tray, or 5–7g for a 15 × 20cm tray.
How do I grow mustard and cress together?
Sow the cress 3–4 days before the mustard, as mustard grows faster. They'll then be ready to cut at the same time.
Is it suitable for vegans?
Yes.
How should I store the seeds?
Keep them sealed in a cool, dry place away from sunlight, and reseal the pouch after opening.
