Description
What are Split Coriander Sprouting Seeds?
Organic Split Coriander (Cilantro) Sprouting Seeds are certified organic coriander seeds (Coriandrum sativum), already split in half, for growing fragrant coriander microgreens in a tray of compost in about 2–3 weeks. Split seed germinates faster and more evenly than whole seed.
Highlights
- Certified organic split coriander seed, with no crushing needed
- Grows in a tray of compost in 2–3 weeks
- Bright, citrusy coriander flavour
- Faster and more even than whole coriander seed
How to use
How to grow Split Coriander Sprouting Seeds
- Prepare: soak the seed for 4–6 hours, then drain well.
- Sow in a single, close layer over 2–3cm of moist seed compost in a shallow tray with drainage holes. Use about 20–30g for a standard 25 × 50cm tray, or 4–6g for a 15 × 20cm tray. Cover with a thin layer of compost.
- Cover for 4–5 days to keep them dark and moist while the roots take hold.
- Grow on in bright light, watering from below so the compost stays damp but not soggy.
- Cut just above the compost when the shoots are 5–8cm tall and the leaves have opened, usually after 2–3 weeks.

Can I grow coriander in a sprouting jar?
No. Coriander is slow to germinate and dries out or spoils in a jar. It's grown as microgreens in compost.
What's the difference between split and whole coriander seed?
Whole coriander is a husk holding two seeds. Split seed has already been separated, so it takes up water faster and germinates more evenly.
How long do split coriander microgreens take?
About 2–3 weeks, usually a few days quicker than whole seed.
How much seed should I use?
About 20–30g for a standard 25 × 50cm tray, or 4–6g for a 15 × 20cm tray.
Is it suitable for vegans?
Yes.
How should I store the seeds?
Keep them sealed in a cool, dry place away from sunlight, and reseal the pouch after opening.
