Overview
Indigo Powder is made from the dried, ground leaves of the Indigofera tinctoria plant. It is used as a plant-based hair colour, usually applied over henna, or mixed with it, for brown to blue-black tones.
Indigo is best mixed with plain water and applied straight away, as the colour develops soon after mixing.
For external, cosmetic use only. Do not eat or drink.

How to Use
- Patch test 48 hours before each use: apply a little to the inside of your elbow and don't use it if irritation appears. Also do a strand test on a small hidden section of hair to check the colour
- Mix with plain warm water to a smooth, creamy paste and apply straight away
- Wear gloves, apply to clean hair, cover and leave, then rinse with water only
- Not for use on eyebrows or eyelashes
Storage: Keep sealed in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, and out of reach of children and pets. Reseal after opening.
For external use only. Not a food. Keep away from eyes; if contact occurs, rinse well with water. Stop use if irritation occurs.
FAQs
Can I eat or drink it? No. It is for external use on hair or skin only.
What colour will I get? Used over henna it gives darker brown to blue-black tones. Mixed with henna it gives brown shades. Results vary with your natural hair colour, so strand test first.
Can I use indigo on its own? On light or grey hair, indigo alone can give a blue tint, which is why it's usually used with henna.
Will it stain? Yes, it can stain skin, surfaces and towels. Wear gloves and protect your skin along the hairline.
