Overview
Brahmi Powder is made from the dried, ground leaves of brahmi (Bacopa monnieri), a small creeping plant that grows in wet, marshy ground across India. It has long been part of traditional Indian hair care, and brahmi oil is a classic Indian hair oil.
Mix it with water or yoghurt to make a hair mask, or gently infuse it into coconut or sesame oil to make your own brahmi hair oil.
For external, cosmetic use only. Do not eat or drink.
Highlights
- Earthy, herbal scent
- Mix to a smooth hair paste
- Pairs with amla & bhringraj
- Infuse into warm coconut oil
How to Use
- Patch test 48 hours before each use: apply a little to the inside of your elbow and don't use it if irritation appears
- For a hair mask: mix 2 to 3 tablespoons with warm water or plain yoghurt to a smooth paste, apply to damp hair and scalp, leave for 20 to 30 minutes, then rinse and shampoo
- For a hair oil: gently warm 100 ml coconut or sesame oil with 2 tablespoons of powder for 5 to 10 minutes, leave to infuse, then strain through a fine cloth
- Keep away from eyes. The green powder can tint very light or bleached hair, so try a small hidden section first
